Meet Michael, Daltrey’s Commercial Director

A massive welcome to our new Commercial Director, Michael Warnock. We’re extremely pleased to have Michael leading the way as we embark on a new phase of hyper-growth and take the identity world by storm. Here’s what he has to say about joining Daltrey, the cyber security ecosystem, Tom Hanks and more…

What is your role at Daltrey?

I have joined as Commercial Director, to lead our growth strategy across Australia and then internationally.

What did you do before joining Team Daltrey?

Over the past 25 years I’ve worked across both domestic and international markets with a focus on emerging technologies. This has provided me with an array of skills and perspectives to help shape ways to challenge the normal way of thinking when it comes to meeting business challenges. I work by the notion of trust and delivering on what I commit to.

Prior to joining Daltrey I was Head of Growth across the APJ region for an Identity & Access Management company called SecureAuth.

What part of your role are you most excited about?

I’m extremely passionate about taking a concept from a page to creation. And showcasing the capabilities of an Australian “AustCyber'” ecosystem company globally. We have a defined differentiation and I love #changingtheconversation.

What does a typical day look like for you?

An early rise as I live on the NSW Central Coast – that first Coffee is vital! Then an all hands with the management team into an array of conversations with partners and end users, media and analyst briefings, rounded out by time with my family.

What are you doing when you’re not at work?

Work life balance is critical; having nine and 10-year-old daughters keeps me grounded. I definitely live by the notion that what you do Monday to Friday allows you to spend the weekend how you choose, which for me is family sports, a sneaky surf and time by the water.

What’s a random fact we should know about you?

I’ve done a marathon! And if it wasn’t for Covid, I would have completed marathon #2 in Paris back in April.

Who would play you in a movie?

Given I like to run let’s go with Tom Hanks, aka Forrest Gump.
